The past two weeks have certainly been up and down weather-wise, but we were still able to get some fishing in. Scattered sailfish and dolphin are being caught both north and south of the inlet from 120 ft. to 260 ft. Closer in there are plenty of kings, bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. Some cobia are also moving in so be on the lookout for rays. Live bait is still a little tough to get on some days but it will get better with warmer temperatures ahead. Bottom fishing has been good as long as the current is not moving too fast. Some snapper and decent grouper are being brought in by the bottom fishing boats. The Indian River is still holding some nice redfish. Fish the west side opposite the power plant. Get in close to the docks and toss your lure near the pilings. The trout are still hot as well as the snook on the warmer days. Top water plugs will work well if the water temps are in the warm range. The north fork of the St. Lucie River is holding plenty of finger mullet. Big jacks as well as snook are crashing into the schools in a feeding frenzy. There are also some tarpon beginning to show up. A finger mullet and a circle hook will do the trick. Pompano are scattered but when they are found there are some fish up to three pounds. More later.
