Good Fishing Inshore Away from Wind

The last few weeks have been on the windy side to say the least but luckily we fish inshore and have plenty of places to hide. The most productive areas have been the Hells Gate section of the St. Lucie River and the inlet itself. The majority of the mackerel have been in the St. Lucie along with a mix of sheepshead, jacks, ladyfish, black drum and ribbonfish. The inlet has been yielding mangrove and mutton snappers, grouper, sheepshead, permit and snook but the pompano bite remains slow for most of our area. Have not been outside for the mackerel due to the high seas but they should be here till April. Happy New Year to all!!! {%image_id=36426%} {%image_id=36425%} {%image_id=36427%} {%image_id=36428%} Capt. Bob Bushholz www.catch22fish.net (772) 530-1496
