Lake Okeechobee Flushing

We are about two weeks into water releases from Lake Okeechobee. I have been avoiding the St. Lucie River all together with poor water conditions but the St. Lucie Inlet has been very fishable from the beginning of incoming tide to about two hours of outgoing tide. We continue to receive a good flush-out from the ocean. Also north of the Jensen Causeway from the power plant to the south bridge, cleaner water is present picking up the Fort Pierce Inlet tides. Pompano are scattered in the flats but decent size running up to 4.5 lbs. Capt Joes Pompano Jigs tipped with clam fish bites are doing the trick. There are a few mackerel inshore but plenty along the beach south of the inlet.
