This report is going to sound like a repeat of my last one but it is a little bit better. The sailfish bite went from good to great. Boats are seeing upwards of twenty fish on a trip. Double and triple hookups are common and the fish seem to be more widespread than they were. Mixed in with them are dolphin and a few blackfin tuna. Some boats are coming in with fifteen to twenty dolphin. Kings have been causing a lot of bite offs in eighty to a hundred feet. We have not bottom fished but from reports we are hearing the bite has been pretty good. The Spanish mackerel are thick at Peck's Lake and the fish are a great size. Anything fast and flashy will do the trick. We have been seeing more and more pompano at the inlet, Hell's Gate, and the Stuart Causeway. We saw a lot caught by Sandsprit Park yesterday and we also caught a few there today. Remember that trout season reopens January 1st and snook season remains closed until February 1st. Happy New Year!
