The water temperatures have finally started to pick up and so has the fishing. Peck's Lake once again is holding Spanish mackerel and we loaded up our last couple of times there, and we are smoking them in the yard. We had a great bottom fishing trip to the Loran Tower the other day and loaded up the fish box. We caught a ton of porgies and triggerfish. We had lane and mangrove snapper, released a few grouper and beeliners, and went one for two on cobia. The live bait situation has improved with schools of greenies and hornbellies south of the inlet. The offshore bite has been pretty slow for dolphin and sailfish. A few are being caught but not in any good numbers except for bonita. We had reports of a wahoo or two and an occasional blackfin. Moving inside the inlet the inlet, look for bluefish on the incoming tide. The pompano have returned and a lot of fish are being caught at the Stuart Causeway Bridge and near Sandsprit Park. Another cold front is approaching and we are hoping it is short lived so the water temps do not drop too much. More later.
