Stuart Area Offshore and Inshore

It has been a fun time of the year to fish in the Stuart area due to the variety of fish we have been able to land. The dolphin bite has been hit and miss but we were able to boat several off of weed lines on different days. We also had a decent king bite in sixty feet of water along with plenty of barracuda. The Sandpile was lit up with cobia for a couple of weeks and everyone was catching them. We had several on threadfin herring while drifting there last week. Permit have been arriving and can be found around the various reefs and wrecks outside the inlet. Near the beaches Snook and big jacks are roaming near the troughs and there are some nice croaker in the surf. Tarpon are also along the beach chasing the bait pods. Inside, look for tarpon at the Crossroads. Last week the greenies moved inside and we were able to load up on them near Sandsprit Park and wound up catching and releasing a 39 inch snook in the north fork of the St. Lucie River. Look for snook at the bridges. Live baits during the day and flair hawks at night should do the trick. Snook season closes June 1st so get out and catch one while you still can.{%image_id=43021%}
