Stuart Area Offshore and Inshore

September had been a hot and rainy month which had led to dirty water near shore but we still managed to catch fish. We had a mixed bag of lane, mangrove, yellowtail and vermillion snapper south of the inlet in seventy five feet of water. Moving north, we boated some nice mutton snapper on the Sandpile along with king mackerel and almaco jacks. The mullet run is in full force and the Indian River is loaded with them which has enabled the inshore fishing to take off. Snook, tarpon, redfish ant trout are all hitting on these baits. The swells from the super moon and Hurricane Joaquin have kept most anglers inside the inlet for the past week. The snook bite at night has been great at all the area bridges and the docks and seawalls of the river and it's canals. Work the shadow lines with a bomber or any diving lure and hold on. Most fish are over slot and will test your tackle. As the offshore swells subside, we are looking forward to some great mahi fishing as they move through the Stuart area.
