Fishing in the past month has been really tough due to heavy winds and high seas. We have been forced to fish inside and have had limited success due to the cold fronts pushing through one after the other. For the larger boats the sailfish bite has been excellent. Many fish were released in the tournaments held in December and January. There was a decent dolphin run also but it was mostly only available to larger boats. Spanish mackerel moved into the area but also has been hit and miss due to the weather. Moving inside the same goes for catching pompano. One day they are there and the next they are gone. We had some nice croaker at the bridges on shrimp tipped jigs. Grouper are closed down for the next few months but snook season has reopened. We are looking forward to the spring mullet run which should definitely liven things up. {%image_id=57818%}
