We have a good run of False Albacore and Mackerel in the bay area right now. The Albies are so much fun on a 7-9wt fly rod. They can make blazing runs, some say up to 40 mph! Poppers and gurglers work well for them. Fly fishing for tailing redfish also has been good. We have been hitting lots of singles and small pods of redfish on the lower end of the tide. As we reach further into fall, the tides will continue to get lower and the water clearer. The sight fishing for redfish will just keep getting better and better. Snook fishing is definitely making a come back. I have seen and caught more snook in these past few weeks then I have in a while. At least were I like to fish for them. I prefer finding them in skinny water along the mangroves. Areas around the river mouths are poducing. I look forward to more great fly fishing for snook to come as fall progresses. Get out there and wet a line! Thanks Capt Nick www.shallowwaterflyfishing.com
