Little Manatee Holding Fish!

During recent trips up the Little Manatee River, we managed to catch everything ,but the kitchen sink.{%image_id=6921%} A combination of Water temperatures in the sixties and variations in pressure, can mean a slow day of fishing. But the days inbetween, when one or both of these factors change for the good , can mean a feeding frenzy! {%image_id=6926%} Inbetween fronts the bite has been off the hook in the Little Manatee River. When the water has been moving the fish have been chewing. {%image_id=6928%} The Mangrove snapper bite(especially around new and full moon phases) has been nothing short of freakin' awesome around the Ol' Trussle bridge. {%image_id=6927%} Also, nice trout are starting to show up around Devil's Elbow and the old "Broken Bridge". Both the trout and Mangrove have been have hitting live sardines, but trust me when I say you cant go wrong with shrimp. {%image_id=6923%} The flounder are in the river as well, and have been taking live sardines dragged on a sand or shell bottom. Fish the oyster bars and creek mouths for best results. {%image_id=6920%} Its that time of year again and the jack are terrorizing the river in big schools. These fish are ranging in size from 2 to 20lbs. Look for the bottom getting knocked out of the river and bait fish flying in the air. Chances are that you will be on a big school of Jack Crevalle. When this happens throw anything in your tackle box on the end of your line, cast out and hold on! {%image_id=6922%} The Alligator Gar have been paying us a vist every other trip or so, but the real news is the snook and red fish. Unfortunately we havent been boating many monsters like we usually do this time of year(at least not yet). However, we have been experiencing solid numbers up in the double digits for both snook and redfish. {%image_id=6924%}{%image_id=6925%} Well I better get the boat ready for in the A.M., till next time have a safe and quality day on the water, capt.
