Moon Macks

A full Moon greeted Captain Steven as I navigated in the darkness to be at my bait spot by sunrise. I tested a new spot today and was thrilled with the results. Prime white baits in 5' and no pinfish mix! I love it when a plan works. Sunday morning the water temp 1 mile off St. Petersburg beach was a perfect 68 degrees! I couldn't wait to get the lines wet and start the party. Well the action started but I couldn't get on the red hot bite. Every five minutes or so we got bit. {%image_id=18160%} Finally a rod went off with the tell tale screaming drag saying Mister Kingfish finally arrived. {%image_id=18161%}Ten minutes later the King finally got a peek at the boat and went nuts! Moments later the rod went slack. {%image_id=18159%} I finally made a move and Captain Steven found the mother load of large Mackerel and 2 Cobia! For 2 hours it was nonstop combat with 3-5 pound speedsters. Many baits were inhaled within several seconds, it was as if the macks could see the baits in the air.
