Sarasota's skinny waters are holding large schools of redfish! {%image_id=15075%} Capt. Jermey Heimes of Day Away Charters and myself located several large schools of redfish on the flats south of Cortez.{%image_id=15079%} We fished 1-3 ft. of water on the incoming tide. Water visibility was a 8 on a scale of 1-10. Redfish ranged from the top of the slot to 30+ inches. Cut threadfin on a 1/8 oz. jig head or #2 EUPRO circle hook got the job done! {%image_id=15076%} For best results stick your Power Pole and let the redfish come to you. Keep a low profile and make long casts. A degree of stealth can be essential when stalking redfish in skinny-clear water. {%image_id=15078%} Before heading in we managed to land a few nice snook just east of Joe's Island. Like the redfish in Sarasota they shied away from live bait. However , the snook were unable to resist the lure of that tasty threadfin soaking on the bottom! {%image_id=15077%} Remember our snook population took a hard hit this year and the season will remain closed till Sept. 1st. So, handle those linesiders with a little T.L.C. when catching and releasing them. Till next time have a safe and quality day on the water. ''Fishing like a pro'' with EUPRO. Eupro Pro-Staff Capt.
