Another blast of cold has came and by Tuesday the mercury should be close to 80 degrees. These warmups can produce some fine fishing indeed. I had a very busy week for this time of year and the fishing was solid. It seems the fish have finally settled down into their winter routine. First on my list was redfish and we caught alot of them this week. They are definitely keyed in on shrimp right now. Deeper docks and mangrove shorelines have produced most of my clients fish. Trout have been very good as well since the cooler weather arrived. Soft plastics fished slowly or a shrimp under a popping cork will get the job done. Sheepshead are everywhere and will bite a shrimp or fiddler. We have caught some really nice sheepies during the cold snap. I don't target them often but this time of year they can be a blast.
