Snook, Tarpon, and Great Weather!

It seems the weather has finally broken after a windy el nino winter. The daytime temps are in the mid 80's and nighttime lows are mild. This in turn means water pushing 78 degrees and tarpon will start to show up in force. I'm still catching a ton of snook in the backcountry on both topwater plugs and flies. I've found the skitterwalk to be more productive than the spook recently. On the fly fishing front a pure white ep baitfish seems to be the ticket. There are plenty of tarpon at the skyway now and it could be any day now when they make a real presence on the beaches. I seen some out there already and after this full moon they should start swimming in force.
