Tampa Bay Fishing Charters Captain Woody Gore – 813-477-3814) We had a good morning catching plenty of snook, redfish, mackerel and snapper. The big redfish are moving into the bay and these giants are a hoot to catch on light tackle. It's important to remember to treat these big breeders with care. After all they are carrying the eggs of future reds. I always try to release them at boat side without too much handling. {%image_id=11703%} The grey snapper are biting and it's fairly easy to catch a limit of these tasty fish. Small greenbacks or shrimp with a 1/0 circle hook and enough split-shoot to get it to the bottom are getting the most attention. The problem sometimes is getting the bait past the ladyfish. Don't be surprised if you catch a gag grouper when you're fishing structure or hard bottom around the bay. {%image_id=11705%} The Spanish mackerel and bluefish are still around and it usually only takes a chum bag to get them going. We caught several decent cobia when the came up to investigate the chumming activity. {%image_id=11700%} Capt. Woody Gore www.captainwoodygore.com 813-477-3814
