It's tarpon time in tampaBay! This week is a awesome time to target tarpon. On the 18th There will be a full moon, which means strong tides and pass crabs in abundance on the out- going, in the late afternoon. So, check your gear, fuel your boat and enjoy the crab chew. {%image_id=5141%}{%image_id=5040%} I often get side tracked during tarpon season, but it is also a great time to fish snook and redfish. In the summer the big breeder(snook) females are in spawn and on the beach. There is nothing wrong with hooking a few, but remember to treat them with care during landing and release. besides the big she- dawgs. I Have been fish- ing a lot of schools of male snook. These schools range from 40-100 fish and are about 20-26 inches in lenghth. I have been working them in the mornings and late afternoons. They have been feeding very agressively jumping out of the water forty and fifty at a time, crashing white bait and glassminows like there is no tomarrow. They may not be the big girls on the beach , but they make for a hetch of a good time. As for mr. Redfish, they are definately here, but harder to catch due to heavy fishing pressure over the weekends. However they usually settle back down by the early part of the week. So for better redfish action you may want to call in sick from work. Till next week have a safe and quality day on the water. capt. Sean
