This the time of year where you have to beat the heat. Fishing must be done in the cooler hours of the day and at night. Snook are all over the beaches and passes. Live bait, lures or flies will all work. Big numbers of fish can be seen in the passes and its good to see so many snook after the freeze. Tarpon are still around as well, not quite the numbers we saw in May and June, but can still be caught. Night fishing gives the best results as far as numbers and bigger fish. Fly fishing the lights with good current can be non stop action for snook tarpon, jacks, and snapper. Soak a dead bait on the bottom near the passes and you can catch the biggest snook of your life as well as the big tarpon and sharks. This is the way to have something big pull some drag. No matter what you care to do, the action is there as long as you beat the heat. Tight lines, Capt. Jeff
