Lately, we have been changing up the game a little and messing around on the outside beaches. This is the time when the weather is calm and the migratory species are flowing down the coast. Schools of glass minnows are balled up along the beaches everything from tarpon, spanish mackeral, bonito, bluefish, cobia, tripletail, and sharks are taking advantage of the present food source. Tarpon appear in the passes, smashing schools of mullet on the out going tides, on the higher water just look for the birds and you will find the rest of the action. Snook are fattening up for the on coming winter, and slowly working their way back to their winter haunts in the darker back waters. Red fish are as well showing up in good numbers in the shallows, and are a great sight fishing target for the fly rod. This is a great time to be fishing, the weather is still calm before the fronts, and the fish are taking advantage to prepare for the upcoming winter.
