The cold is killing us!

This is probably one of the toughest reports I hopefully will ever post. Due to the duration of cold nights, we have had a MASSIVE fish kill! HUNDREDS of dead snook can be seen floating everywhere! This makes me sick to my stomach. I have seen a little bit of everything, from snook, catfish, mojarra, and even sharks took a big hit from this horrible weather. Before the actual fish kill, you could see catfish, disoriented, swimming in circles, or listing to one side on the surface. I saw big 6 foot bull sharks swimming on the surface, bumping into the boat, I'd push them with my pushpole and they wouldn't even respond in their normal manner. This is a horrible act of nature in fact, but nature always has a way of bouncing back! This is not the first and will not be the last, but we'll have to cope and make the best of it all.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Jeff Legutki
