Tiger Shark Landed

Early morning fishing was good on the 14th. Winds were calm and offshore the water was clear. Water temperature remains warm at around 78- 80 degrees. Talk about excitement!! On Monday I fished John from Eli Lily. He caught a seven and a half foot Tiger Shark that we fought for over three hours. Boy was it a monster- around 150 pounds! Talk about a maneater. Tiger sharks are fairly rare in this area so it was a rare treat. We also caught a four foot Black tip shark, although we were looking for tarpon. Winds picked up strong later in the afternoon. Backwater was still murky, but we were able to see a couple of tarpon roll. On the 15th I fished Ralph from Michigan. We had to deal with 20 - 30 knot winds with gusts up to 35. Off shore fishing was extremely difficult. Even going in the backwater was extremely challenging. But, even with bad weather conditions and heavy winds, we were still able to pull out a tarpon in the backwater. Ralph put up a good fight for over an hour until the tarpon broke the line. Warmer weather is coming later in the week, and the fishing should just continue to improve. So, lets get out there and catch some more fish!
