the stripers are showing up strong on Oconee

It has been our guess that everything is running about 3 weeks behind this year, due to the freakish weather we have had here. The stripers have finally showed up at the dam, and in an unexpected twist, there are more of them UP the river, than at the dam. Some really strong catches have been coming in from Dyers Pasture over the past couple of weeks. Guys are fishing cut bait on the bottom with some really great results. The dam bite is working with live bait, such as big bass minnows or shad, and down lining or free lining the baits. The crappie have moved under the docks and have started their migration back over the submersed timber on the lake. I think it is going to be a really good summer bite, as our spring bite was just unbelievable!
