Typically, at this time of the year, the bite at Wallace Dam is long over. The stripers have moved on to other parts of the lake, and the fishing traffic has slowed to near nothing. The only thing true in this sentence is about the fishing traffic. The stripers have been at the dam for 2 weeks now and huge catches are coming in, providing you can get down there while the water is being pumped back. The downline bite (on the bottom) with shad produced non stop action over the last little while, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Use a 1 oz barrel swivel to get the shad to the bottom and don't stray very far from your rod. It won't take them long to find it.
