URigs are hot on Lake Oconee

Water temp 89 degrees Water is stained The umbrella rig bite on Oconee is in full swing right now. It is amazing that you can drop a live bait down to them and they would rather eat plastic, instead of the real thing. I guess it is the reaction bite that causes them to go crazy, but it works. We have been pulling these rigs over the humps down at the dam and the bite has been coming at around 20 feet. The tailrace bite is also really good when GAPWR is generating. When around 3 generators are on, the stripers run up Sinclair to the base of the dam. We are booking trips over the next month as the bite should only get better. However in a month or slow things will dramatically slow down on the lake, as the water gets up in the nineties, and the fish become very lethargic. Tight Lines Doug
