{%image_id=20584%}This past week with good afternoon high tides was a treat, even though we had the full moon along with them we were able to catch nice trout, snook and spanish macks. I dont claim to know every in and out of the moon phases and how it effects fishing. I've have had those days where every aspect of mother nature was perfect and leave a spot scratching my head, and then those days pulling up to a spot wondering if anything would eat at all and have every fish in the area bend a rod. This happened to us last Thursday. I wanted to mix up the normal routine and sneek into a shoreline I had'nt fished in a week or two. All of the sudden John was reeling in a nice trout "22 inches" I figured that was a good start. As I stood at the front of the boat with Phil we saw a snook bust a free swimming shiner I had tossed out just as we anchored up. I eased the anchor up and slowly trolling motored up close to the area, put a hook through the tail end of a bait and made the cast. It took just a few seconds when I saw Phils line get that ever so pretty bounce. I smiled at Phil and said uhhh huhh as his rod doubled over and braided line sang through his guides. He boated the first snook of the day measuring at just over 28 inches. We boated a few more snook around 24-26 inches before heading out for the fast hitting Spanish macks and our limit of trout.
