The conditions this past week were absolutely ideal! Many days were bluebird skies with very light winds. Of course i had very lttle on the books with the usual pre-holiday slow period. Capt. Terry Duffield managed to get out a couple days hooking and losing a couple but this one wasn't quite so lucky. This is Luke from Alaska with an 11.5 lb monster caught on a Duffer crab fly pattern.{%image_id=13139%} These double digit fish are actually quite common. At least we see them regularly but landing them of course is another story. A fish this size is at least 10 years old and no dummy. That's why i can't stress more that you practice somewhat before your next outing whether it's to hawaii or the florida keys. I consider them inshore marlin. Catching one of these 'fish of a lifetime' is quite a feat. The key is to stay focused and positive. When playing this game you are always one cast away from doing something very special!
Tight Lines,
