Winds subside and Bonefishing improves

After weeks of heavy wind, finally conditions improve enough to get out. Tides were also much better and many tailing bonefish could be found. The spring push is underway and things will only get better as water continues to warm up. On Tuesday, two fish were hooked on fly but managed to find something sharp on the bottom. Larger bonefish are starting to show up in greater numbers. Stronger tides are the key to getting these beasts to tail and feed more actively. With summer right around the corner, i can't wait for the weeks of kona winds [light south westerlies] that bring some of the best bonefishing of the year. Expect comfortable conditions with low humidity and highs around 80 degrees.
