{%image_id=46755%}Since the fishing on the Outer Banks was slow, I decided to take a road trip to Marathon in the Florida Keys and hang out for two weeks. Fishing was great on the bay (gulf side)with plenty of Snapper,Spanish Mackerel, Speckle Trout, and Blow Toads. The best bait to use was live shrimp or chunks of ballyhoo. Once you get a chums slick going, its just a few minutes and the fish show up. In no time, we had out limit and it was back to the house for lunch. The ocean side was a little to ruff for fishing, but I did manage two days when the wind backed off some and managed to boat two nice King Mackerel with the biggest going 45 lbs. I'm now back on the OBX waiting for the wind to stop blowing 30plus MPH and the sun to come back out. Come on summer.
