Inshore bite is hot in the lowcountry

Beaufort

With our water temperatures now dipping to 60 degrees, the inshore bite is really turning on in the low country. This past Friday I took a quick scouting trip as I hadn't been on the water for a couple of weeks due to some family health issues. I put the boat in at 2 pm, ran 3 minutes to a favorite drop, and put 12 trout and 5 redfish in the boat and was back at the landing at 3:30. Wish all my trips were so easy! The weather, tide, and water clarity were perfect, and the trout were eating up a Norton Sand Eel, Jr. And caught the Redfish on the same bait. Had a charter yesterday and put 13 nice trout and 3 Redfish in the boat. If you can get out on the water now is the time to work on the trout. And it should stay really good for several weeks if we don't have too cold of weather.
