Have had a few trips this month around the weather. Seems like we have had a number of fronts come through, bringing lots of rain and then cold and wind behind them. The water temps have dipped below 50, and the Redfish bite has been best on sunny afternoons when the mud flats warm a couple of degrees. Mud minnows and Gulps have been the ticket. Free line them, or use as little weight as possible, and give the fish plenty of time to get the bait in their mouths, as they have not been very aggressive. Using light wire circle hooks is extremely effective on these flats fish. These fish are pretty spooky, so try to approach them as quietly as you possibly can, and fish the outside edges of the school. Tossing a bait in the middle of the school. or lining a fish, can put an end to the fun. {%image_id=41892%}
