JANUARY REDFISHING IN CHARLESTON

Charleston

The redfish bite has been very good when the weather has cooperated. The temps have been below normal for most of the month, but the days that have been fishable have been pretty good. I've had several 10 to 15 fish days fly fishing, throwing artificals, and using bait. Sight fishing large schools of reds have been easy. Jerkbaits, earth tone colored flies, and dead finger mullet have seemed to do the trick for me. The fish have been very sluggish and need some warmer temps soon.
