June is one of my favorite months in the Lowcountry. The variety of fish we can catch is great. This morning I had a trip just ahead of Tropical Storm Andrea. The seas were calm early so we ran off the beach at Hilton Head onto some numbers I have for structure. Had only one client so actually got to fish a little myself with him, which is unusual. We caught Ladyfish, Black sea bass, Bluefish, a real nice 10 pound Redfish, a number of good Weakfish, Speckled Trout, Jack Crevalle, and even a legal 22 pound Cobia. He also had a sheepshead follow his bait up to the boat but didn't take it. About the only fish we didn't catch which are also there is Spanish Mackerel and Flounder. I did catch both of those species last week out there. What a great way to spend a morning ahead of a storm.
