January 2, 2007 Water 60 As promised it has gotten better! The cold weather that we have experienced over the past few days has caused the fish to start bunching up in certain places. On the last trip with customers we boated over 20 hybes. It seems that they are taking spoons faster than any other thing you can put in front of them. We have been catching them in 20 to 30 feet of water. Many fish have been pretty good, with some coming close to 7 pounds. Start looking around flagpole point and work all the way down to the dam. Note that most probably every hybrid in Lake Oconee will be found from Great Waters boathouse all the way to Double Creek. There are more gulls on the lake than I saw all last year, which is a great sign. Hopefully we will get a shad kill in the next few days and the fish will go crazy. Tight lines. Doug
