Louisiana - Venice & the Gulf of Mexico

Venice

Hurricanes and Fishing. We are finally getting some decent weather again. The wind has been blowing in our part of the world for maybe a month with only a few decent days to get out and fish. For the most part everything is in tact, except for a few honey holes (offshore platforms) offshore that were blown down or received damage from the storm. October is just around the corner. This means big Tuna, just like every year. 100+ lbers. were in fairly close before Ivan but since then most of the big boys are 40+ miles out again. We will be fishing again on Tues. and through the week as long as the weather stays somewhat decent. The snapper (big ones) have moved in since the storm although the Cobias have been tough to find. Everything is slowly getting back to normal. This week should be very good fishing. As we move into the fall and winter months of course the tuna and wahoo fishing only gets better and better. Capt.
