April 1 Cod and Haddock Charters on Stellwagen Bank
Stellwagen Bank, massachusetts

Need I say any more? Ok, I will. In April and May, the cod and haddock move into shallow water for some of the most fun action of the year. No 300 foot depths, no 24 oz weights, no 35 mile runs. We're running 16-23 miles (usually at 30-35 mph) and catching fish in 80-100 feet of water, often using 6 oz jigs and light tackle. The action is often non-stop. I love this time of year. We've made some nice changes to the boat--I've added a bow pulpit and made the cockpit better for fishing--it was great before, wait until you see it. Check out my website for a pile of new videos and I'll be having a leader's board of the largest fish of the year for each species--and prizes at the end of th season for the largest fish. This will be a great competition. See you soon.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rich Antonino
