Biloxi MS Fishing - Big Sheepshead Deliver Big Bite!

BIG ROD BENDING SHEEPSHEAD ON THE PROWL! Ran a trip on Saturday, and yes it was extremely windy and cold. But the show must go on, and on a wind swept Back Bay of Biloxi my three clients fished relentlessly. {%image_id=13110%} The three gentlemen were Greg Peare, Don Schoening, and Stephen Shadle from Yuma, Arizona. Leaving the D'Iberville Marina at 10 am the tide was low and still falling strong. Started out fishing the mouth of the bay, but the bite was off. Really off...dead! Decided to run back into the bay and catch the rising tide on some sheepshead and drum holes. {%image_id=13109%} The first stop was a dead bite too, and we were at a slack tide. However, on the second stop the tide started to rise, and soon the men were in for a fast paced fish catching flurry. Within an hour and a half period the three men enjoyed battling some really big sheepshead. Matter a fact, off one submerged piling all of the fish were caught, and it was a matter of getting the live shrimp within a foot or so of a small concrete structure. {%image_id=13108%} When the bite slowed the men had boxed and/or released 30 fine sheepshead and 1 black drum. Kept most of them lively in the live wells, took pics on the dock, and then safely released all but 2 of the fish. The trip started out slow, but once again patience and a rising tide was the key to success. Hey, never say never aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS! Bottom line, managed to pull out a great light tackle fishing trip under poor conditions, and the good news is the fish are out there to catch. Didn't try the speckled trout today, but they are moving into the rivers and bayous too, and make for excellent slow trolling fun.
