Just finished up two very nice trips on Friday and Saturday. The trip on Friday was the Don Shipp group, a referral by a recent client, and the Saturday trip was Andy Sanders and friends, regular clients aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. On Friday, Don, along with his father and uncle had all the action they could stand. Every where we went the bite was hot, and when the day was over a diverse box of fish was at hand. {%image_id=12542%} The final take home tally was 40 black drum, the small good eating size, 60 beautiful white trout, 6 sheepshead, and a ground mullet. Needless to say, these men wanted fresh fish, and plenty of fresh fillets they got. Drum and sheepshead fell for live and fresh dead shrimp fished on the bottom in the Back Bay of Biloxi, and the white trout were caught using popping corks with a live shrimp or piece of fresh cut bait suspended below. {%image_id=12541%} On Saturday, well, it was game on again, and on this day the bite was even hotter. On this trip the tide was running a bit slower than the day before, but that was good because on the first trip it was hard to keep baits on the bottom. {%image_id=12539%} Big sheepshead and black drum were starving it seemed, and it was good to see the arrival of those big sheepshead. Once they caught plenty of the drum and sheep it was off to the white trout reefs. {%image_id=12540%} Like the day before it was a practically a fish on every cast, and the anglers were having a blast using popping corks and live shrimp on the cooperative trout. Saturday's take home tally included: 105 nice white trout, 20 plus black drum, a speckled trout, and 17 fine sheepshead. On both trips the clients pitched in on the fish cleaning, and we prepared all of them down at the D'Iberville Marina. Hey, it's always fun sitting around the fish cleaning table remensicing of the trip, and telling all sorts of fish tales. Two more excellent trips with wonderful people, as well as some magnificent cool weather to fish in. Folks, the bay fishing is hot right now so be sure to get in on this action, a type of fishing that kids can enjoy too. Right now I am wide open for the rest of the month, so get in on this great light tackle action now. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L.
