Biloxi, MS - Waiting On Weather To Clear Up!

By Robert L. Brodie
Thus far, most of this month has been plagued with strong winds, some very chilly, and heavy rain. The sad thing is a record number of trips have been cancelled due to the unpredictability of Mother Nature. The whole time, most of the reefs in the Mississippi Sound were loaded with the tasty sand sea trout a.k.a. "white trout" and southern kingfish a.k.a. "ground mullet", just waiting to suck in a fresh piece of squid or shrimp. On top of that, the heavy rains freshened and muddied up the inshore bays and rivers, thus making interior fishing poor too. But enough of the bad news, looking on the bright side the weekend, especially Sunday, and into next week is looking good. Look for great fishing once winds subside and waters have some time to settle, and then the inshore, near shore, barrier islands, and nearby Louisiana marsh fishing will provide plenty of action once again. Action in the Cajun territory will pick back up too, and it's just a quick run across the Mississippi Sound to these fertile fishing grounds. By the way, it's time to start chumming for cobia on our barrier island bars, and from now through the first two weeks in May is generally the hottest fishing times. Folks, it will get better, and get better soon as the weather starts to settle down. Here at TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS we're sitting on go ready to fish and fish hard. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
