Light tackle bay fishing in Biloxi, Mississippi aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS continues to be excellent. {%image_id=17305%} Those delicious, scrappy, and plentiful sand sea trout aka "white trout" and southern kingfish aka "ground mullet" or "whiting" continue to swarm the inshore oyster reefs in massive numbers. {%image_id=17304%} Light tackle fishing with double-rigged bottoms have been the ticket to success, and running mere minutes from the dock has led to non stop fish catching fun. {%image_id=17306%} With 4 anglers on the boat it's hard for me to keep up taking off fish and keeping baited lines at the same time, but I manage to keep it going, and the big catches are the result of the fast paced fishing. {%image_id=17307%} If you like fried fish, well, these trout fillets fried golden brown are simply delicious. To prepare these reef dwellers first I scale, fillet, and then cut out the ribcage. {%image_id=17308%} Thus, you have a boneless fillets ready to be rolled in yellow mustard, dusted in Zatarians Fish Fry, and then tossed into very hot grease. Now go ahead and make up some baked beans, potato salad, and homemade french fries and eat like a king. That's how we do it down here! By the way, Florida pompano are showing up at the barrier islands too, and the fish are running big. Black drum slowed down a bit in the last week or so, but now that the weather is beginning to cool the drum and sheepshead should become active in the bay in October. Redfish are beginning to stir again too, with most fish showing up the bay a ways. Look for the speckled trout bite to turn on as the weather get cooler. OK...the bite is still going strong so come on down to south Mississippi and enjoy some of this light tackle bay fishing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Remember folks...life is short...let's fish!
