Redfish, Flounder, Drum, White Trout, & Specks On The Menu

Despite all of this oil scare in the Gulf of Mexico inshore and island fishing has been great, and so far the barrier islands has dodged the bullet. To date, well, we've been lucky with winds, currents, and heavy seas to break it up, but we aren't out of the woods yet. {%image_id=15241%} But until then it's fishing as usual, and TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS hasn't missed a beat through all of this oil floating offshore. {%image_id=15243%} Matter a fact, some really nice bull reds have been boated on TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS at the islands, and some nice white trout were added to the mix too. {%image_id=15242%} Just a day ago on a recon trip we spotted good numbers of FLORIDA POMPANO in the isle's shallows, a mixture of big and small fish, but it was a good sign never the less. Oh yeah, Spanish mackerel and bluefish are in the surf and on outer bars too. {%image_id=15239%} I've been waiting to see those pompano in numbers for some time now, and all we need are some anglers to get after the speedy and tasty shallow dwellers. Bottom line...they're here! The bay fishing has been good too with a few specks and redfish, plenty of big white trout, flounders, and black drum. Just great light tackle bottom fishing fun. {%image_id=15240%} Menhaden are big enough for bait now, and the white trout have been hammering the lively and shiny baits.
