Expect some good early season fly fishing on SW Montana's rivers. The Madison, a tailwater river, is always a good bet in the spring. Starting in March, and running into early June. For dry fly action, expect some early mayflys, with caddis usually fairly heavy in May. Stoneflys usually show up on the lower river the end of May, and progress to the upper river in early June. Stonefly nymphs work all spring under a strike indicator, as do small bead headed patterns such as a Prince Nymph. Good news for all of SW Montana...most drainages are at or above average snowpack levels! If it does not get too warm too soon, we expect a real good water year. Email me if you would like further info, or you would like to book some dates. Good Fishing, Bill
