As nights grow longer and air temperatures drop, the lower reaches of some of our larger rivers are hitting ideal temperatures for trout. The Lower Madison is typically too warm for good fishing in July and August, but water temps are now in the low 60s. The fishing is improving during the day and we will soon see the blue winged olive hatches on cloudy days. The lower is home to some of the largest trout on the Madison. The biggest trout normally succumb to crayfish, sculpins and streamers. For more visit http://www.montanaangler.com
