Winter Striper bite still hot.
Lake Mead, nevada

We've been to the lake 3 times in the last few weeks and caught plenty of 2 to 5 lb stripers on each trip. The Striped Bass are running in the 30 to 40 ft deep range and biting on both lures and cut bait (anchovies and shad). Shore fishing is also good on points where dropoffs make reaching those depths possible form the bank. Luckily the lake is surrounded by lots of these points. The health of the striped bass population seems to be improving a bit unless the skinny "razorbacks" have slowed their bite and the healthier ones are coming in to the shallows. Some of the stripers are experiencing a false spawn already or are trying to spawn a bit too early.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Jamie Flanagan
