New Years Eve day, last trip of 2013

Grayton Beach

Well despite the past year ending with the dreaded number "13" it proved not to be unlucky as far as the fishing went or the several trips I ran where anglers pulled out a banana to snack on ( Google that one). Unless you previously worked on a boat in the Bering Sea doing the deadliest catch thing this "Polar Vortex" everybody's been coping with, going out on open water in an open boat isn't something anybody's wanting to go do. The weather is going to gradually start warming back up and do have a charter lined up for next week and we'll see what's biting after this cold snap. The four last trips of 2013 were extremely productive limiting out on Lesser Amberjacks and a strong Vermillion Snapper bite. The Flounder bite waned each day from the previous and I would expect that by now they have moved on being replaced in close by Gag Groupers. Unfortunately they're now outta season, but the FWC has done away with the closed season for all other groupers.{%image_id=36546%}
