New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Salmon River

Great Fishing!!!!!!!! Summer is almost here and the fishing continues to be consistent. While June is considered a transition month, that doesn't mean you can't catch fish. Most days we start out in tight, catch a few browns, then slide offshore for lake trout and even a few steelhead. The other day we took a giant Burbot in 130 feet of water. They are one ugly fish. (See picture). The fishes bladder exploded as we brought it up and we found out later that it was only a few pounds off the state record of 16 pounds 12 ounces. Big ugly fish!! The river is finally dropping but still has great color. T-Spoons in back and silver and the brown trout pattern has been good, along with smithwicks off the boards. The best speed has been 2.3 to 2.5. The lake trout have been liking blue blades with a glow green or chartreuse fire plug behind them. Now is the time to book for warmer weather and a good mixed catch. I still have June 15, 16, 17, 18, 24, 25, 26. There are also plenty of excellent days available throughout the summer months. Don't miss out, give us a call now. 315-298-2410 Tight Lines, Troy Captain Troy A. Creasy High Adventure Sportfishing www.highadventurefishing.com Lake Ontario Outdoors www.lakeontariooutdoors.com
