Today is Monday May 21, 2012. Fishing throughout Orleans County continues to be good to very good. On both Oak Orchard River and Johnson Creek Bass fishing is very good but is still catch and immediately release. Northern pike are being taken on both the upper and lower Oak Orchard River. Walleye are being taken at the point, mostly at night, trolling with deep diver baits (10 to 12 feet down). On the Erie Canal good catches of Catfish are being taken along with Perch and Carp in good numbers. Glenwood Lake has slowed a bit but good catches of Bullhead and Rock Bass are still being reported. On Lake Alice Blue gills are being taken at both of the bridges and Crappie are very strong in the shallows. On Lake Ontario the fishing is beginning to move more offshore with the best being the 150 to 180 foot of water range. Riggers at 30 to 75 feet down and Dipsy divers 220 feet back seem to be doing the best. Lures mentioned are Black magic and 42 second spoons and 42 second Spin Doctors. Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
