New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River
Salmon River, new-york

First Trip of 2006! Spent a pleasant winter day with two new clients. Rob was over from Rochester and he had his friend King, from Taiwan along with him. Both are new to steelheading and wanted to learn some water to fish themselves at a later date, so we spent pretty much all day learning how to read the water and how to set up and use float rigs and drift rigs. We had a handful of fish take our pink and blue sacs, but only landed one. Even though I spent 3/4's of the day just talking and instructing, I thought we would have hit a few more. Still a nice day with temps in the upper 30's. Lot's of people on the river today and everyone we talked to agreed it was slower. Better days ahead, I am sure. Plenty of open days this month. Not much left for April and May. If you haven't booked, you should get in touch with me soon. See you out there. Troy
Tight Lines,
Capt. Troy Creasy
