Hi Folks, Around Wrightsville and the surrounding beaches the water has been hot. Now that "fall" is approaching the water should cool off and the fishing should heat up! Her's my report: INSHORE: Redfish and flounder have been the main bites on live bait. Topwater lures have worked well on reds in the early morning. NEAR SHORE: Again the Spahinsh have been on again, off again. Some nice ladyfish have provided some good fun. OFFSHORE: Kings and mahi are ranging from 10 to 25 miles. Some sails are around. Gulfstream: A huge bite of wahoo is happening. Cape Fear River: Too much rain has tainted the river water but it is slowly getting back to normal. Some flounder, reds and occasional trout have been landed. UPCOMING: Better (cooler) weather will bring more aggressive fish. Look for inshore fishing to pickup quickly once the water temps drop. Please check out my website at www.rod-man.com for fishing pics. Until next time... LET'S GO FISHING!!! Capt. Rick Bennett
