November fishing in Crystal River

Crystal River

Inshore bite has been steady lately with water temps in the mid 70's. Trout have moved into 2-3' of water. I've even caught some keepers in the river already. Popping cork and a live shrimp or a gulp shrimp is my general go to but on lower tides we switch over to 1/8oz jig and a zoom fluke or DOA paddle tail. Seems like the bigger ones are schooled up tight so when we get a keeper I'll drop the power pole and fish that area for 5 minutes. Normally we can pick off a few more. Reds have been firing on just about anything you throw at them. We're fishing tight to the mangroves (a foot off them) tossing primarily free lined live pinfish and shrimp on 1/16th oz jig heads. Been able to sight fish a lot of them lately. Majority of these fish are in the 20-25" range. {%image_id=64361%}{%image_id=64362%}{%image_id=64363%}{%image_id=64364%}{%image_id=64365%}{%image_id=64366%}{%image_id=64367%}{%image_id=64368%}{%image_id=64369%}{%image_id=64370%}{%image_id=64371%}{%image_id=64372%}{%image_id=64373%}{%image_id=64374%}{%image_id=64375%}{%image_id=64376%}
