Today is Monday September 17, 2012. Fishing on Lake Ontario continues to be very good with the two bands of water staying productive. Both bans continue to work their way towards the shore as the days get shorter and the lake cools down. Salmon are being taken from the piers at the Oak for those with patience and a good casting arm. Their are some Salmon in the river but not enough yet to make it a good source. On the tributaries within Orleans County, fishing for Northern pike continues to be very good on all of the inland waters. On Lake Alice both Bluegill and Crappie fishing has slowed over the past week. Smallmouth bass are still active on most tributaries but the Perch fishing has yet to start with any consistency. Right now we need some much needed rain and some cooler weather to really jump start the Fall season. Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
