Today is Monday January 23, 2012. There seems to be no end to the weather rollercoaster that we are on. This week the weather is supposed to be above freezing each day with the nighttime temperatures dropping into the just below freezing range. The good news is that these temperatures should keep all of the tributaries within Orleans County in a very fishable state through the end of the week and beyond. This has got to go down in the record books as one of the greatest tributary seasons in a very long time. There are reports of great Steelhead/Rainbow trout action throughout our tributaries and still some very active Brown trout that have not laid their eggs yet. The down side of all of this is that the ice fishing to this point has been non-existent with no change to this in the near future. The reports of Perch, Bluegill and Crappie catches are very sparse at best but that could all change very quickly with the right weather conditions. Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
